As well as our Battle of Prestonpans displays in the main hall, we also host a range of supporting exhibitions. These are shown in our Jubilee Room, so-named because of the coincidence of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897 (when the building first opened) and Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 (when the museum first opened). The subjects of these exhibitions vary signficantly, sometimes linking directly to the battle or to another aspect of our local history, or perhaps showcasing panels from the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry. All supporting exhibitions are free to visit during normal opening hours.
