It has been a cold and frosty end to the year, so our volunteer team warmed themselves by reflecting on another successful year for our museum.

With around 2,500 visitors over the course of the year, slightly up on our previous (opening) year, and three well-received temporary exhibitions hosted, we are able to look forward to 2024 with excitement and confidence. There is a lot to look forward to: a few changes to our main gallery will bring a few more artefacts and artworks out from our collection, a new programme of Jubilee Room exhibitions, and – of course – the countdown to our big re-enactment in September!

To celebrate the end of the year, our volunteers got together to toast the successes of 2023! Without our volunteers we wouldn’t be able to keep our doors open, so this was also an opportunity for our curator Arran to thank them for all their hard work over the year.

Have a very merry Christmas, and a happy hogmanay!
