We’re delighted to be hosting a special exhibition of the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry, at the Prestoungrange Gothenburg, from 17th-25th May 2025.
Those close to Prestonpans will know that The Gothenburg – a pub which has been at the heart of the community since 1908 – unexpectedly closed its doors a few months ago. The good news is that it is soon to re-open in a new guise, meaning that visitors will not lose access to the amazing series of heritage murals housed within (and without!).
But before kitchens are fired up once more and the taps again begin to flow, we’ve been given the chance to display the panels of the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry for a week – and what could be more appropriate! Not only does the building itself feature within the tapestry, as you can see from the detail shown in the poster, but it was also here within its walls that the project was conceived and planned, as for many years The Goth has served as an invaluable hub for local arts and heritage initiatives.
So whilst we know it is short notice, and whilst we know it is not available for long, don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to enjoy the magnificent story of the the Scottish Diaspora, in this wonderfully welcoming and familiar setting!
Open 11am-4pm daily, 17-25 May.
No booking necessary.
