TONY GILLINGHAM
“It is with great sadness that we hear that Tony, affectionately known as Tony G, has passed away following his long battle with cancer. We all enjoyed knowing and working with Tony, as colleague and friend, for more than 25 years. Our condolences go to Audrey and his son Mark and his family.
Tony joined the group team as our Management Accountant based in Buckingham but regularly travelled to Scotland to share with the team there. He nurtured us all in accountancy practices for the betterment of our myriad enterprises from international Business School, Burke’s Peerage and Bradford-based Emerald, to the two Prestonpans-based Scottish charities; ensuring our Prestoungrange arts hub, Gothenburg public house and bistro, and the Battle of Prestonpans (1745) Heritage Trust all stayed close to budget. Always interested and approachable, Tony cheerfully gave time to help work through challenging questions with his dry sense of humour. He was we know a keen guitarist, but he was determined we’d never have the opportunity to hear him play!”
