RE-ENACTMENTS & CELEBRATIONS IN 2010

Our 2010 Re-enactments will take place from July through to September as the Prestonpans Tapestry is 'paraded' along the route Prince Charles and Sir John Cope took in the run up to the Battle at Prestonpans - from St Nazaire to Eriskay then onwards through the Highlands to Perth, Edinburgh for the Prince; and from Dalwhinnie and Inverness to Aberdeen and Dunbar for Cope, until they meet at Prestonpans itself.

The re-enactments will be led once again by The Glenbuckets and our own Alan Breck Prestonpans Volunteer Regiment in association with Lace Wars, the 77th Montgomeries, the Lancashire Militia, the Connaught Rangers and the Charles Edward Stuart Society of Derby. _____________________________________________________________________

Meanwhile, we are still finalising our reports on the 2009 re-enactments which also ran from July/ September and were included in Scotland's Homecoming activities. [GO to News Reports on the left hand buttons on this page for details].

More than 500 guests watched the final re-enactments in Cuthill Park on September 19th as the Camerons charged and captured six redcoat cannons and watched the redcoats flee to the beach at Morrison's Havern where the Highlanders took all but one prisoner. Over 100 re-enactors took part, and we thank the all. Hundreds more visited the Prince';s Clans Exhibition.

	2009 The Prince's Loyal Clans Exhibition - July 18th / 31st As the Trust's contribution to The Homecoming, to coincide with The Gathering of the Clans in Edinburgh July 25th/ 26th, an Exhibition was arranged that told of each clans role with the Prince at the Battle of Prestonpans September 21st 1745. A series of associated activities was provided and the Trust was delighted to welcome the Camerons from New Zealand for the re-enactment of the incident in Tranent churchyard on September 20th 1745. 	2008 Battle of Prestonpans Conference (Battle Symposium) Plans are already in place for the annual celebrations of the Battle of Prestonpans 1745. The 18th and 19th of September 2008 will see the Battle Symposium taking place at Prestonpans Community Centre including the presentation of The Battle of Pots & Pans on the evening of 18th. Cameo re-battle enactments will take place on the 19th and 20th of September 2008 at Duddingston and in Prestonpans. September 17th see The Proclamation of King James VIII at the Edinburgh Merket Cross and a Reception and Exhibition at the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood.
